Built in the 18th century as a Roman theater for the entertainment of the royal couple and their guests, turned into ruins over the years.

Not Roman at all. Only Roman in name.

I saw these ruins with my girlfriend during a day trip to Bayreuth. They are the remains of an old Roman-style structure near the old palace inside the Hermitage. The columns and bricks look like they could collapse at any moment, but there are installations that make the surrounding area safe. Nearby are gardens, flowerbeds, and benches where you can rest, thanks also to the shade provided by the trees.

A former open-air stage, designed to resemble the ruins of a Roman theater. Like many other parts of the Hermitage, it's a romantic element. Built around 1744, it was probably used as a stage from time to time. However, I'm somewhat skeptical that a Roman theater would have looked anything like this. I have different images in mind. Therefore, it's not a highlight of the Hermitage for me, but it's quite nice.
